9月21日讯 据《世界体育报》报道，特巴斯接受采访，谈到了西甲的假球问题。
特巴斯说：“以前西甲假球猖獗，曾有一位西甲俱乐部的主席，在球队赢得关键的保级战后，走到更衣室告诉球员们“比赛不是你们赢的，是我赢的，我买下了比赛”。这是多年前的事了，在那个年代，如果你和各俱乐部主席们聊天，他们会告诉你，（下游球队）如果要想保级，你必须（距离赛季结束）提前 5轮比赛存够钱。”
“幸运的是，（在我担任西甲联盟主席后），我们现在已经杜绝了这种情况，我们请来了一位经验丰富的前警察负责这方面的工作，并且改革了西乙的赛制、引入了升级附加赛，在整顿过程中，奥萨苏纳等俱乐部因此受罚，有一位俱乐部主席还进了监狱。”
